My top 10 OCD list for school owners

Martial Arts Consulting, Marketing, Coaching and Billing by United Professionals

Jeannie tells me that I am a perfectionist and tend to intimidate people at times.   I really want to apologize if that is the case.  Although I have some pet peeves that may make people think of me that way,  but I honestly can say I have your best interest at heart at all times.

So I am just going to title this the TOP  10 Things that  I would like to see changed in some schools I visit.    If you do all of these CONGRATULATIONS – I have company in the perfectionist group.

  1. Keep regular hours.  Post them on your door and be there.  11 am – 9 pm is good.   When talking with Doug Bertrand last week he said he makes the most appointments between 9 and 12 but then again he is an over achiever.
  2. Kids throwing their equipment bags and shoes just anywhere.   How do we teach pride unless we set a standard for students.  In the Mesa schools...

It would be a great idea during the next month to visit large businesses in your area and talk to the head of Human Resources.   You can provide a group...

Martial Arts Marketing Control

Greg Silva

Hello

I wanted to share two things important about getting consistent results with new students.

  1. Be consistent
  2. Be in control.

When you are consistent you have 5 – 10 marketing programs in place at all times in addition to seasonal or special monthly projects.

The challenge is most schools rely mostly on the special monthly  projects like a “Back To School Party” Or “booth for an MMA fight” or Halloween Kick or Treat cards  http://www.unitedprofessionals.com/holiday.php ...

Make your MIA Calls- This is the perfect opportunity to get a student re-motivated by inviting him/her to a special event you have coming up. For example, if Billy has been missing class it is because he is not excited about coming in. It’s usually that simple. So what do I do? I find something that he will be excited about and use that as motivation to get him back in. So I make a phone call to mom and say “Hi Mrs. Smith. This is Master Storm at East West. We have our Halloween Bash coming up and I wanted to invite Billy personally. Can I speak with him please?” Once I get Billy on the phone I get very animated and talk to him on his level about Halloween and what he will be dressing up as and so forth. Then invite him to the Halloween Bash. Once I do that and he accepts, then and only then do I ask him to come in to class this week so I can give him some extra...
